Holiday Season 2013

We have survived and tried to enjoy another busy holiday season! It’s always a bit of a challenge to get everything in order for all of the events - luckily we both had some extra vacation days to use this past week ;)

~ We’ve had lots of snow this year ~ Loving that snowblower ~

We went to the annual Mefford family gingerbread house building activity and celebrated Spencer’s dad’s birthday. Becky and Todd have been in town and were able to enjoy the festivities with us. I decided to play photographer for the seasonal events. I never quite have the photos I want for my scrapbooking, and we have a better lens for these activities so it is easier :)

~ Paul’s family made a cute train ~

 ~ Isn’t my hubby cute?! ~

~ Me surviving the chaos! :) ~

Afterwards we celebrated my dad’s birthday. Everyone was in a goofy mood so we have some silly pictures. These are two of the normal ones! :)

~ Love my sisters ~

Schoko opened up an early Christmas present so she could use her new shoes in my parents house! She hates wearing her shoes. She acts like her paws are broken; it’s so sad. But what she doesn’t realize is that it’s better than being left outside in the cold! While sitting down putting them on her I noticed the my parent's carpet was wet.  Apparently water had been leaking in from outside and it made quite the mess!

We spent Christmas Eve at the annual Mefford family party. The kids looked so cute all dressed up for the nativity pageant! Too many pics of them to decide what to share! :) Here Spence is showing off his new meat claws for his smoker.

~ My Family ~

We spent the night at my parents house and enjoyed a slow Christmas morning with them. Schoko got toys, treats, and bandanas for Christmas. She’s getting really good at digging into her presents!

~ Love my puppy ~

We then visited with the Meffords that evening before making the trip back home. It has been fun to see family and I have enjoyed being the photographer. I think I like hiding behind the camera. I find it’s a bit less stressful because I have a job to do, and it’s a great excuse to mingle with everyone.

~ Happy Holidays! ~

Holiday Photography Fun

We have Fantastic Sweaters :) Our friends invited us to an ugly sweater party. Because we have a photography studio setup in our basement (thank you hun!) naturally we took pictures before the party. Don't we look awesome?! I love it!

He has lights poking through the sweater, connected to a battery. Yes - they light up. She has tinsel wrapped around her with bulbs attached to her sweater. Absolutely Awesome!

Spence and I found sweaters and some amazing pins and bells. Spence is wearing a beautiful bell around his neck, his pin is a lovely penguin. I decided to wear the bell like a headband, my pin is a wreath with a dog in the center saying Merry Christmas, I also am wearing amazing christmas tree earrings to match the lovely gingerbread scene on my sweater :)

This sweater is just amazing, with lovely holiday Dog Toys Attached. Yes they squeak lol!

We also took pictures of the puppies! Aren't they super cute!??! I love them so much! I also love how festive their ribbons are :)

Schoko wasn't in that photo shoot because she already had pictures in her TuTu :)

There was a really cold morning and Spencer wanted to take cool pictures of our pup in the super frosty white grass. I thought since everyone is on this post we can't leave out our little girl. So here they are!

It's cool because you can tell the grass is mostly white, but not snowy. I love the contrast between the grass and Schoko's coloring. Doesn't she look good?! What a pretty pup!

Isn't my husband a great photographer?! I think he's amazing & has been improving so quickly lately. I'm happy he has found a hobby he enjoys. I am also grateful to have wonderful photos that capture our every day life. It's so much fun and then I get to scrapbook them if I ever have time!

You can find more of his work on his flickr site here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/spencermefford/

Now a lil' bit about me and what I've been up to. I got a ton of scrapbooking supplies from my mom for Christmas. I love them so much! I finally got my glimmer mists I've been wanting. I had a lot of fun scrapping a day or two over the holiday. I was able to scrapbook the first Christmas I had with Spencer - I will try to post pictures of the scrap-ness later so you can see how cool they look. I think that I am slowly getting better at designing my pages. If only I had a bit more time - I need to pass this test! It's killing me slowly... I just need to do it but I haven't wanted to. I feel like I've been in school ever since I graduated! lol So, sorry friends that I haven't seen in forever - I miss you all - I really do - I just am just a bit stressed out over this test so I can't hang out yet. Hopefully Soon!!

Family Photo

We finally have a family photo! Doesn't it look good? We used the setup we have in the basement and some help from my family and then voila - a family picture! So, I decided we should use this in some holiday cards to send out to some friends and family. Our first Christmas card ever! woohooo!

How could you not love these pictures of Schoko! Hahaha. I wanted to make a tutu so I decided that Schoko could use a Christmas Tutu :) It was slipping off her waist so I used some left over ribbon & wrapped it around her chest to help hold it up.

Isn't she cute?!

Oh yeah, and guess who got sick on Christmas Eve - Me. Boohoo. Who want's to be sick on vacation? Not Me...

Holiday Decorations - Finally!

I finally put away Halloween decorations and put up some Christmas ones durning the windstorm. Yes, it was a week or so into December and our house looked like fall! (Yikes!) I didn't have time to put up everything so, our living room is the only decorated area. (I wish I had time to wrap the banisters with garland and lights, because I really liked that last year. Maybe I'll get around to that next year, sigh) I really think what I did do turned out cute. I love how cosy the living room looks. Don't you just want to cozy up next to the fireplace with a blanket & peppermint mocha or hot chocolate?!

Here are some pictures:

We used these vases during our wedding reception and I wanted to use them as a table centerpiece. I found cute red, green and gold sparkly balls to put inside them and wrapped some ribbon around them. I think it turned out great. Maybe I can use this idea for more holidays :)

Happy Holidays! :)
