Updates!

Since I have not posted anything for a while I thought it was time for a few updates.

A month or so ago we weeded and put wood-chips down on all of our flowerbeds. They look way better! It was a lot of work, but totally worth it.

BEFORE:

We had a total mess! We filled up our garbage can with weeds for two months! Once the garbage can was mostly full we started bagging it and slowly were able to get rid of the massive amount weeds. To give you an idea, this is just one side of the house. We have flowerbeds all around it and in the corners. Yikes!

This is not the greatest picture of me, but you can see all the weeds I pulled! Some of them were little trees. I pulled most of them while Spence went with our neighbor to get more wood-chips. Thanks Randy for your help!

AFTER:
It is so much better!

We can now enjoy our yard and not worry about weeding all of the time. I put some Preen on top to help prevent weeds. It seems to be helping a lot.

Here is a picture of Spence spraying some of the leftover weeds we missed at first. He is sporting our team while he works - Go Utes!

So that was a lot of work :-)

Our couch
came in a while ago. We love it! It is so comfortable. We found some cute pillows from Wal-Mart to put on it for now. Eventually we want this couch upstairs in the TV Room so I didn't want to get nice pillows for it yet. We have not found any couches we like for downstairs. So, this one is filling the empty space in the living room for now.

I made French Onion Soup for the first time the other day. It was so yummy! I found the recipe on allrecipes.com. I used Gruyere and Romano cheese that is floating on a rosemary/garlic french bread slice. We had a nice salad and some chicken to go with it. The soup was so good we didn't get to the chicken because we were so full!

Our Super Awesome Plantation Shutters came in a few weeks ago. It has been so nice! We now have privacy and they really help keep the cold air in, and the hot sun out! I will post some pics later...

Well that's all I have for now. I need to start taking some more pictures. I always feel like a blog would be incomplete without them. This is good, because then I will actually take pictures. I love having pictures but am so bad at remembering to use that camera.

Cute Little Pups!

I received an email today from our breeder and we have a due date for our puppy!! I am so excited!! Jenne is the momma and Jumanji the papa. She sent just the cutest email and said that: "She (Jenne) thought Jumanji was very handsome, and everything went well!!" Haha I just had to laugh, its so cute! We can't wait! The due date is July 24th!

Here is a photo of Entlebucher puppies found on the NEMDA website at: www.nemda.org. The website is full of information all about the Entlebucher Mountain Dog.

Our New House!

It has taken quite a while, but here are some pictures of our new place. We dig it, and the yard. I can't believe we have been in it for 3 months already! It is nice to finally have a place of our own. The shutters should arrive in the next week or two, and our couch came in last weekend. The yard is growing and we are almost done putting down wood chips and such in the many flowerbeds. We also planted a little garden in the back. Our offices are not so photogenic so they are not shown, but it is nice to have our own space :-)

Enjoy the Photos!

Our Street (Yes these pics are from February...)

The living room fireplace

We love our range. It is duel fuel, so we have gas on top and an electric oven. For an added bonus, the drawer on the bottom is an extra oven. It is the best range ever!

Master Bath

We really like the doors and the trim

Graduation At Last

My hubby has officially graduated! He graduated in December with a BA in Business Information Systems and walked this May. I am so proud of him and happy that he is all done.

To celebrate we invited all of the family over. I made a cake and decorated the house with Utah colors. The house looked great! I had used some balloons for decoration and they were a total hit with the kids! They all had so much fun taking them around the house.

Here are some photos, enjoy!

This is just a silly picture. I think Spence was joking with the kids.

This is the cake. I used Pastry Pride for the frosting and filling. It was delish.

The Balloons/Table. (Not sure why the walls look so yellow)

Red and white ribbon to add some color.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Yay the braces are off today! I can't even wait to see my love with them off and give him a great big hug/kiss (okay many hugs/kisses!). I am sure those pearly whites will look great!!

We had a Cinco de Mayo celebration today at work. We had so much food!
  • Black beans/corn delish
  • Cilantro Lime Rice
  • Steak & Chickenwith delish seasonings
  • Pinto beans
  • Several Salsas and chips
  • Sauted peppers and onions
  • The fixins: tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole! Soft and Hard taco shells, and delish bev.
It was so yummy. I spent all morning fixing it all up, cooking up the tortillas, and heating up everything. I hardly found time to do my real job. The fiesta was a great success!

Yesterday our dining room light finally got moved. It looks so great! Amazing- we can now center our table under it AND open the back doors. Who knew that was possible? ;-) I also love the rug I found at JC Pennys for our back doors. It looks great and was super on sale!

We found out our sectional will be delivered on Saturday. Finally we will be able to use our living room, and not just sit on the floor.

Our yard seems to be growing a little better now. I don't know if it was the fertilizer or just that it took some time for it to grow. There are still some brown spots, but what-do-ya-do?Now to figure out where to plant flowers and what kind of dirt to put in the flower beds. That will be the project for this weekend.

Waiting

Waiting for everything. I don't really like waiting.

"But I want a pony now daddy!" HA

New Couch: takes 4-5 weeks to arrive. It has been 4 weeks and was shipped out from the warehouse last Friday. I am hoping we get it by this Friday for Spence's graduation ceremony. If not, we may have to put out a blanket on the carpet, picnic style.

We have not wanted to invite people over because it's awkward after dinner. There isn't anywhere to move to for a conversation. Upstairs just seems too far away, plus its the TV room. So we end up chillin' at the table forever, which is fine, just not really that comfortable.

Shutters: Hello Neighbors! Yes we live here, and yes you can see everything through our totally open windows. They take 6 weeks to arrive. It has been 1 week.. and the wait continues... I am excited to have shutters tho. This way they will look nice and I don't think I will feel the need to have drapes :)

Dining Room Light: It needs to be moved. Whoever decided it needed to go where it is, was a moron. There is no way to get a table directly under it AND open the back doors. I am sitting here waiting for the electrician. Hopefully he comes soon, we've been waiting since we moved in to get it fixed!

Puppy: sometime late summer. I have been reading all about training puppies. Now I just need to find a good puppy class. I still feel like its too early to go looking. I mean, the pup hasn't even been conceived yet!

Yard: Our yard hasn't really started growing yet. The neighbors yards look super nice, and ours needs a lot of work! I wouldn't compare except they are all super on top of things, and I don't want to have the worst looking yard on the street!

Other Random Fixes: sinking yard under the porch, water drain in the front of the house, master bathroom shower drain thing, someone to take the construction signs out of our yard (nobody seems to know who put them there), and someone to take down the graffiti sign down the street (again, nobody seems to know who the sign belongs to!). Uhg so many waits. But then again, when things finally arrive, or get fixed, I will be that much more happy because of the wait!

ALSO ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE... :)
