Get Picky May & June Challenge

I have been so busy at work and studying (blah, who likes to study? Not me! but that's life). With any free time I have been trying to enjoy summer. We have gone on so many great hikes lately! My puppy is such a good hiker, it has been so fun. My husband and puppy are ninjas, you really should see the way they quickly hike through difficult spots. I get so scared it takes me FOREVER to get across some slippery rocks, and they breeze by. (Not fair! but I am getting better.. I think)

Today I finally got around to scrapping again! woohoo! I finished the May sketch I had started when it first came out (yes it took me that long to finish since I had zero time) and then finished this month's sketch. It was nice to relax and try to be a little creative for a day :)

So, here is this month's Get Picky sketch.

And here is what I came up with:

As you may be able to tell, it's difficult taking pictures inside! So, yes the background really is black, with some fun grid lines on it, not gray and washed out like it looks in this picture. At least you get the gist of it! This is also the first time I have ever finished a sketch before the deadline.Yay!!!

With that note, here is the May sketch:

This is what I did with it:

My pictures were too big to stack like the sketch, so this is what I came up with. The background on this one has cute little dots. These pictures turned out so blurry o'well...

I am slowly learning to be a better scrapper. I love having sketch ideas to work with! But, with Roberts closing down the street, I am running low on supplies! I am going to start looking for places online to order from. Please let me know if you have any places you would recommend. Since seriously, I started scrapping last year and all the close stores have closed! RIP little HeartLand Paper, and Roberts Crafts... I miss you dearly.

...Now back to work tomorrow...

  1. wha a great layout! i love your take on the sketch!!
i think us girls tend to be a bit more cautious than men at hiking... maybe sometimes they might think they are bear grylis (sp?) on man vs wild. :) (not sure if u have seen this tv show?)

  4. Hey, sweet girl, so so happy to see you joining in on the challenges, whoo hoo hoo! :) :)
Love the photos of the two of you on that first one, LOL, classic. Also, I love the pearl page-corners you did!
Also, from the cute 2nd layout I see your stash of alphabets is coming along nicely. ;)
Your Roberts is closing too?! Argh, where shall we shop?
    My favorite online spots are:

yourscrapbookstash.com (great coupons, free shipping for a $50 order)

twopeasinabucket.com (biggest selection, free shipping over $50 with code)

amillionlittlethings.com (it's close to us, so the shipping is fast, they often have great sales and a great bargain section)

Kay, I should stop blog commenting and email you, lol. <3
